UAE’s Largest Rubber Sheets Stockist – Bulk Quantities, Best Prices
Fail-safe marine mounts developed for propulsion engines, engineered to accept propeller thrust as well as static weight. Directionally tuned stiffness gives optimum performance under the firing pulses of internal combustion engines. Loads from 50kg to 1,000kg per mount, hardness 30 to 60 Shore A.

A marine propulsion engine does something no static machine does: it pushes the whole vessel forward through its own mounting feet. That axial thrust, combined with vessel roll, pitch and the reversing loads of going astern, means an engine mount designed for a factory floor is simply the wrong component. Marine mounts are built to take that thrust while still isolating the engine’s firing vibration from the hull.
The BMR series achieves this through directionally tuned stiffness. The rubber element is shaped so that the mount is comparatively soft in the vertical axis, where isolation of engine vibration matters most, and considerably stiffer fore and aft, where thrust and shock have to be reacted into the bed plate. That asymmetry is what makes the mount suitable for internal combustion propulsion engines rather than just generator duty.
The construction is fail-safe. Steel components interlock so that the engine remains restrained on its bearers even in the event of rubber failure, which is a survey requirement on many commercial vessels and a sensible precaution on any craft that will see open water.
The same characteristics that suit a wheelhouse also suit harsh shore installations. BMR mounts are regularly specified for generator sets, diesel engines, pumps and compressors in coastal, offshore and agricultural environments where salt, humidity and corrosive atmospheres shorten the life of ordinary mountings. ABAW holds stock in Sharjah for UAE marine yards and exports to GCC and African ports.

Loads are maximum static values per mount. For propulsion applications the mount must also be checked against propeller thrust and astern loading, so share the engine make, power rating, gearbox and shaft arrangement and we will confirm the selection.
ABAW holds ready stock at our Sharjah warehouse and dispatches to Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the northern emirates within days, with regular export shipments to the GCC and African markets.
ABAW is a marine anti-vibration mount supplier in Sharjah and Dubai, UAE, stocking the BMR series of fail-safe thrust-rated engine mounts for propulsion engines, gearboxes and vessel generator sets. Marine mounts are specified across UAE and GCC shipyards, workboat operators, offshore contractors and coastal installations. We supply marine engine mounts in bulk to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah, and export to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Egypt, Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Ghana, Tanzania and Ethiopia.
A propulsion engine transmits propeller thrust through its mounting feet into the hull, and it also has to survive going astern, vessel roll and slamming loads. General purpose compression mounts are designed for vertical static load only and can shear, debond or allow the engine to walk out of alignment under thrust. Marine mounts are built with directionally different stiffness and a fail-safe interlock precisely so they can carry thrust while still isolating vibration.
The mount is deliberately softer in one axis than another. Vertically it is compliant, which is what absorbs the engine’s firing vibration and stops it transmitting into the hull as structure-borne noise. Fore and aft it is much stiffer, which is what reacts propeller thrust and keeps shaft alignment within tolerance. A mount that was equally soft in every direction would isolate well but let the engine move under thrust.
No. The features that suit a marine installation, meaning corrosion tolerance, fail-safe restraint and the ability to take load in more than one direction, are equally useful ashore. BMR mounts are regularly used on generator sets, diesel engines, pumps and compressors in offshore, coastal and agricultural settings across the UAE where salt-laden air and humidity are hard on standard mountings.
Start with the total wet weight of the engine and gearbox assembly and the number of mounting points, usually four. Divide to get the load per point, remembering that weight distribution on a marine installation is rarely even and the flywheel end typically carries more. Then check the selection against the engine power and shaft arrangement for thrust. Send us the engine make and model, rated power, gearbox and the number of mounting feet and we will recommend the article number and hardness.
