What Are Cylindrical Bobbin Mounts?
Cylindrical anti-vibration mounts, widely known as bobbin mounts or cylindrical buffers, are the most versatile isolator in the anti-vibration range. A moulded natural rubber body is chemically bonded between two steel end fittings, so the mount carries load in compression, shear or a combination of both depending on how it is installed. That flexibility is why the same part appears under exhaust brackets, control panels, fan housings and small pump skids. ABAW supplies the full BC series across five thread configurations. Type A has a male stud at both ends, Type B is male at one end and female at the other, Type C is female at both ends, Type D is a single male stud, and Type E is a single female boss. Choosing the right configuration is usually decided by what is already tapped or drilled on the equipment and its mounting frame. Hardness runs from 30 Shore A for soft isolation of light equipment through to 70 Shore A where the mount must resist higher static load with minimal settlement. Because deflection changes with hardness, the same physical size can serve very different load cases: a BC 100 x 90 carries 285kg at 30 Shore A and 540kg at 50 Shore A. Stock is held at our Sharjah warehouse for delivery across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the northern emirates, with regular export shipments to Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and African markets.
